Highlights:

  • Coricancha. One of Cusco’s most famous and revered temples, originally known as Inti Kancha (“Temple of the Sun”), this Inca temple was built upon to create the Convent of Santo Domingo.
  • Sacsayhuamán. An iconic Inca structure built by Inca Pachacutec in the 15th century. This massive fortress, constructed with giant stones, remains a mystery in terms of how such large blocks were transported and carved.
  • Machu Picchu. The lost city of the Incas is hidden atop an Andean peak, offering not only spectacular views of the mountains but also a glimpse into the mysterious Inca past.

  • Light and comfortable clothing is recommended for visits to coastal areas of Peru, while warm clothing is recommended for the highlands. Visitors are discouraged from wearing sleeveless shirts, shorts, short skirts, or revealing clothing when visiting religious temples or official buildings. Sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, and mosquito repellent can be very useful during your stay.
  • Bus travel within the country: Passengers are allowed up to 20 kg of luggage in the hold and 5 kg in hand luggage. Excess baggage may be accepted based on bus capacity and will incur an additional charge.
